Atlantis ElectroNexus
Empowering Africa's Electric Transport with Cutting-Edge Power, Charging and Skills
Save 60–70% on energy. Pay 30% of a new EV truck's price.
New heavy electric trucks from global OEMs cost R6M–R9M in South Africa — two to three times the price of an equivalent diesel. We convert your existing truck for approximately 30% of that figure, using the same world-class electric drivetrain technology, while delivering 50% or more in total transport cost savings from day one.
Battery pack and full conversion can be structured as a lease — spreading your investment across the asset's working life, with no large upfront capital requirement. Your truck, your chassis, your asset — just electric.

Three ways to structure your electrification
Go electric without a large upfront outlay. Our leasing and service structures spread the cost across the working life of the conversion — making the economics work from day one.
R/month
Entire conversion financed
The complete diesel-to-electric conversion — drivetrain, battery, electronics, installation — structured as a monthly operating lease. Keep capital in your business. Pay from energy savings.
Lease
Battery pack on lease
The battery pack — typically the largest single cost item — is offered as a standalone lease or included in your energy contract. You never own the battery; you lease its capacity. Replacement, maintenance, and warranty included.
Annual
All-inclusive maintenance
Annual service contract covers two scheduled services, remote BMS diagnostics, warranty support, emergency callout, and carbon credit tracking. One fixed monthly cost. Zero service surprises.
Proven on hundreds of thousands of commercial kilometres.
Atlantis ElectroNexus deploys globally validated, field-proven electric drivetrain conversion technology — already operating on heavy freight routes across multiple continents, carrying real loads, on live logistics routes.
This is not a prototype or a pilot. The conversion platform has been refined under genuine commercial operating pressure and has delivered measurable, repeatable results for fleet operators who cannot afford downtime. We offer conversions on a branded basis — under your fleet's own name and livery — or on an OEM basis, allowing truck dealers and manufacturers to offer electric variants of existing models without new vehicle development.
Indicative battery pack options

Swappable Battery System
Fast-swap battery architecture eliminates charging downtime. A depleted pack is swapped in minutes, not hours. Trucks keep earning while batteries recharge at our hub on competitive fixed-rate clean energy.
Fleet Intelligence Platform
Real-time energy monitoring, predictive maintenance alerts, carbon credit tracking, and route optimisation — all in one dashboard. Full visibility, zero complexity.
Chassis-Agnostic — Any Make, Any Model
Works across all major heavy truck makes. From 8-tonne city delivery vehicles to 50-ton superlink combinations. Keep your existing chassis; upgrade the drivetrain.
LFP Battery Chemistry — Safest Available
Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) — thermally stable, non-toxic, 3,000+ cycle life. The right chemistry for heavy commercial use on African roads and African ambient temperatures.
Proven. Not Promised.
600,000+ commercial km driven · 3,500+ battery swaps completed · 1,578 tonnes CO₂ abated · 124 orders in progress globally
Engineering. Service. Charging.
Every truck we convert becomes a permanent client across all three divisions — compounding value for operators and investors simultaneously.

Building world-class EV skills right here in the Atlantis Economic Zone
Atlantis ElectroNexus is not just an electrification business. It is a national skills development engine — creating fully accredited, internationally recognised qualifications in EV conversion, high-voltage electrical infrastructure, and battery systems management.
All programmes are developed in partnership with MERSETA and registered through the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) — ensuring every qualification is nationally recognised and opens doors across South Africa's growing green economy.
QCTO Accredited · MERSETA Registered · SDL Funded
Our Skills Development Levy contributions are channelled back into our own programmes via the MERSETA mandatory and discretionary grant system — creating a self-reinforcing cycle of technical training. Employers who enrol staff in our programmes may qualify for SETA grant rebates.
QCTO EV Artisan Learnership (NQF 3–4)
12–18 month registered learnership. Rotation through HV wiring, battery assembly, BMS calibration, and drivetrain workstations. Graduates eligible for national Trade Test at accredited centres.
High-Voltage Electrical Infrastructure Certification
QCTO-accredited HV safety and electrical infrastructure programme aligned to IEC 60900 and OHSA. Covers EV charging station installation, commissioning, Eskom NMD compliance, and SCADA operation.
HV Safety Upskilling for Existing Artisans
For qualified diesel mechanics and electricians already in the workforce — a formally certifiable EV competency overlay that preserves existing trade qualifications while adding recognised HV and EV skills.
TVET College Partnership — CPUT & False Bay
Formal workplace-based learning agreements with Western Cape TVET colleges. N3–N6 electrical engineering students earn structured credits at our Atlantis facility — building a pipeline of pre-trained candidates.
B-BBEE & Employment Equity Priority
Recruitment actively prioritises previously disadvantaged candidates into high-skill, well-compensated technical roles — contributing directly to green economy transformation and B-BBEE scoring for enrolled operators.
Atlantis SEZ — South Africa's Green Industry Hub
The Atlantis Special Economic Zone is South Africa's designated green technology industrial zone — with direct Eskom HV grid access, affordable industrial property, and an explicit mandate for clean technology manufacturing.
Our conversion workshop and battery charging hub are co-located at the Atlantis substation, giving enrolled fleet operators access to competitive, fixed-rate clean energy — eliminating diesel price volatility and delivering industry-leading transport cost efficiency.
Port of Cape Town Corridor
Direct N7 route to the Port of Cape Town — the primary intermodal freight artery. 80–100 km round trips well within single-charge range. Perfect overnight charge window alignment.
First Mover Advantage — No Competition
Cape Town has zero commercial-grade DC fast charging for heavy vehicles as of 2026. The capital barriers to competition — Eskom grid connection, NMD contracting, site establishment, truck-grade hardware — are substantial. We have a 2–3 year head start.
Carbon Credits & ESG Reporting
At full scale, 894 enrolled trucks avoid approximately 90,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Eligible for Voluntary Carbon Market credits at R236/tonne and rising. We manage verification — you share the upside.
Part of the CHARGE / MegaCharge Network
Atlantis is the Cape Town node of the CHARGE electro-logistics network being deployed across Sub-Saharan Africa. Enrolled operators gain access to future CHARGE nodes as the continental network expands.
